Team on England

The Sons of Albion will play at the European Championship for the eighth time. The biggest success was a bronze medal in 1968. In their five-team qualifying group they quite easily took the first place against Montenegro with five wins and three draws. The English like the French, lost the last few big events.

The resignation of Fabio Capello from the function of a coach a few months before the start of the Euro will not be helpful for them. The Italian coach could not respect the decision of the federation about withdrawing the captain’s armband from John Terry for his

allegedly racist speech against Anton Ferdinand. Currently, the position of the coach was taken by Stuart Pierce, however, the main candidate for this position is still Harry Redknapp.

The most important players in the team of the English at Euro will be Jermain Defoe, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, and of course Wayne Rooneywho, who will be responsible for shooting goals, however, it will occur only in the last group match. This is the punishment for a brutal foul in the final qualifying match against Montenegro. In the defensive, the core person is John Terry.

The biggest problem, as usual, the English may have with positioning the right person in the goal post. The last tournament in South Africa only proved the thesis that the English have never had luck with goalkeepers. England, as usual, will be dangerous, they can afford a very good result and deserve serious consideration because at any rate is one of the favourites for the Championship.
